Who doesn't like compliments and appreciation??? Who doesn't being felt special? Everyone, be it the prime minister of your country or the beggar on a street everyone likes the feeling of being appreciated, the feeling of being accepted by the society. Right from childhood, we've been taught to act a certain way to procure a certain result. “If you complete your homework right away, I 'll give you a chocolate ““if you go to school, I 'll get you your favourite toy car”.

This clearly explains 'To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction “. However, why can't we act a certain way just for our betterment and not for acceptance? Why can't we just tell the kids " Complete your homework or else you won't understand the next chapter " "Go to school or else you won't get a chance to learn ". Why can't we do things Who doesn't like compliments and appreciation??? Who doesn't being felt special? Why can't we do things Chance to learn ". Why can't we do things for ourselves without anticipation of something great? Youth today requires social media 'likes' and 'comments ' for their self-satisfaction and for feeling approved by the society. A part of this behaviour can be attributed to our upbringing. Rest can be attributed to the growing trends and lack of self-love and self confidence.

Only if your friends like a quality or talent about you, you feel good about it. Fear of rejection by the society is another reason. This leads everyone to be the coaches of a train that follow the engine blindly.  Standing out from the crowd is what today's generation fear. They fear that their thoughts and beliefs would be disproved and they 'll be humiliated in public. Then follows the trend of gaining acceptance through the likes option on social media like Facebook Instagram Twitter and many more. One like on a picture or status update glows up their eyes.

Crossing a certain number of likes feels like an achievement. Compliments in the form of

Achievement. Compliments in the form of comments adds cherry on the cake. However, when these fail to happen, achievement turns to failure and the cherry on the cake turns to mud on the cake. Acceptance from others is all that matters. However, what's important is when you look into the mirror and can still make eye contact with yourself despite of 'n’ number of failures, despite of numerous rejections, despite of thousand laughing faces on your failures. Only when you do not love yourself is when you hunt love from others. Only when you do not know your worth is when you search for sugar coated words from society for happiness.

Don't keep looking for likes but keep finding your likes and keep displaying them as wonderfully as you can.
