Maranatha Orphanage, Chembur is an orphanage that helps the needy with basic education and welfare who unfortunately couldn’t  stay with their families.

Through our programme UDAAN – Nurturing Lives , we gave them wings to fly high and conquer their dreams. We, Rotatract club of caduceus aim to target institutions who are deprived of health care support.

Our directors therefore got in touch with them and they were more than happy to have us. As a routine; basic history, anthropometric measures, vision testing, dental checkup and head to toe examination were carried out. Deworming tablets were also given to every child under the supervision of our volunteers.

Later in the day we had counseling sessions with the children explaining the various tini-tiny things that we must be careful about inorder to live a healthy life and stay away from infections and diseases.

Towards the end of the day,with an attempt to entertain the kids, we conducted various activities like drawing and essay writing competition where we realised that some kids had great talent hidden inside them which if nurtured well could help them reach great heights.

We wrapped up our day by distributing stationery hampers. There were smiles and happiness all around which really touched us!
