SEMICOLON -  December

Date: 31st December, 2017

Project SEMICOLON is dedicated to the prevention of suicide and promoting mental health. A semicolon is used whenever the author chooses NOT to end a sentence. We are the authors of our own lives, not to end it just yet.

After a general body meeting for the ongoing project of SEMICOLON which aims at fighting against stress and promote mental health, it was decided that a peaceful environment like that in the mountains would be the best way to relieve from the chaos of the urban world.Hence venue was decided to be Bhivpuri which took place on the 31st December 2017 until the 1st of January 2018.Volunteers were asked for their participation by Whatsapp messages and other promotional media.

It all began on the 31st December when everyone reached the Bhivpuri station at 5pm and started a long yet peaceful journey in the soothing weather for about 3 hours. The trek was difficult but with each others support, we managed to finish it in 4 hours and reached the destination by 9. It was followed by dinner.

They also engaged in some games and bonded well with each other. It was a great idea to relieve mental stress by staying in the mountains for a night away from the busy schedule with unknown people. All our volunteers shared their experience, gave hope and inspired each other to live through a purpose! It was indeed amazing to listen to their inspiring stories of how they emrged to be the heroes of their life!

The volunteers were very happy to know that they not the only one and there were many others sailing in the same boat. Many people from that boat could successfully depart without drowning is what gave hopes to many others. The volunteers concluded this trek to be one of the most stress free times of their life.

The new year was very nicely welcomed as everyone made a shift to a new phase of their life with much confidence and happiness. Next day all of them descended down with their heads held high, wide ear to ear smile and much much confidence! The volunteers were very happy to know that they not the only one and there were many others sailing in the same boat. Many people from that boat could successfully depart without drowning is what gave hopes to many others.
