Sandhan Valley Hanging Tents
Date: 31st December, 2017
Our club members belonging to the medical and para medical field are ever so stressed before there’s anything to stress about and then they stress about stressing over stress that doesn’t need to be stressed about. Oh my God, wasn’t that stressful to even read? Phew! So taking frequent breaks is a healthy habit to remain mentally and physically fit. Hence, to promote mental and physical fitness we have launched ‘take a break’ project where frequent fun and adventurous activities are planned for our hard working medicos.

This time our directors worked extra hard to make this break even more eventful. This time we had trekking with access to the hanging tents at Sandhan Valley on the 30th and 31st December 2017. The place/venue was decided by taking advises from the experts. Permission from forest department was obtained. Certified technical team was hired. Registrations were taken by circulating a message to our online groups.

So you must be wondering what exactly these hanging tents are. A Hanging tent is an adventure activity where a person is allowed to sit in a tent tied to a rope that is leading into the valley. Now, that is a scary sight but the person is made to wear a harness, and a belay is attached to ensure their safety. All the activities were done under expert supervision and all safety measures were considered. It was a great chance to experience the thrill with chills down the spine with an unexplored adventure sport as such!

Indeed, it was a very different form of adventure that everyone enjoyed and appreciated. Not only that, we also observed genesis of new friendships where we the left with all being strangers to one another and retuned as one big family celebrating 2017 in full swing.
