On the occasion of Woman’s day under leadership development initiative 2017-2018 , volunteers in Rotaract club of the caduceus were given a chance to organise an event under the leadership of board members .  In collaboration with Mansoori Manav Vikas Foundation a camp was organised for women residing at Mhada Colony , Kurla 8th of March 2018.

Leadership development initiative is a HR project to train and understand the capabilities of potential volunteers and members in the club in order to empower new leaders in the club. This project was carried out on the occasion of women's day to enable the ladies to live a fun day in their lives out of their busy schedules and to impart knowledge to them about female body and general health issues.  

 

Permissions were taken from the society to organise the event. Counseling content were prepared by the volunteers. An acquaint expert was approached for a free self defence session.The day began with spreading awareness and knowledge about:

• Menstrual hygiene

• Common medical problems of women : ANEMIA , CHRONIC FATIGUE,  MENOPAUSAL issues ,etc

• Following , we also had a workshop on self defence techniques which empowered every woman sitting in the audience.

• After a tiring practice session on self defence, a 15minutes Meditation session was held thereafter which calmed and inspired the ladies.

• At the end, a Q&A session was kept to solve their queries on any issues related to health.

 

Once we got done with the learning sessions, musical chair competition was organised to give the ladies a fun break from their routine chores. All and all the women enjoyed their day and we were successful in educating and empowering some 45 -50 women living around the area .
