Health Checkup Dharavi

Date: 21st August, 2017

We all know Dharavi is the largest slum in Asia and very well located in our city Mumbai. Sickness and infection, as well as cases of malnutrition, are rampant in the area and hence, frequent health check-ups and timely medical assistance are of utmost importance.

The project was initiated by contacting the officials at SSRVM( Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir), Dharavi, who were more than happy to have RC Caduceus volunteers come to their venue and conduct health check-ups for their students.

The target audience was school students, since children are more prone to pick up infections. Basic history, anthropometric measures and general examination was carried out for each student.

Based on the clinical findings, the students were counseled and a few severe cases were reported to the authorities which needed further medical attention.

About 200 children were examined and counseled. The concerned authorities were extremely happy with the efficiency and professionalism displayed by each volunteer at the camp.

Therefore ,’Taking healthcare where its most needed’.
