Menstruation taboos still have firm roots in Indian society was revealed in a study by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Therefore it becomes the need of an hour to speak openly about menstruation and not fear them.

 

On 22nd October, Leo Club of Bombay Sarvodaya Nagar celebrated Diwali with MaNiketan, an orphanage for 9-18 year old girls. A seminar was conducted on Adolescent health by RC Caduceus where  Anainah Patel conducted an insightful 90 minute discussion on various aspects of adolescent health.

 

She busted various myths related to menstruation, human anatomy and also gave some life lessons.Sanitary napkins were distributed to the girls.

This project was carried out to educate young girls and create awareness amongst themselves about the changes they undergo.
