Everywhere we go, whoever we talk to, everyone has a loved one they have lost to Cancer. Cancer is feared by most people and early diagnosis is the key to the cure, ergo cancer screening and awareness becomes essential in this era where the mortality rate due to cancer is increasing.

 

As a result, the club held a cancer screening camp at various locations in alliance with Central Patient Aid Association. The general measures like basic history, anthropometric measures, general examination were carried out.

We also had designated tables for specific systemic evaluation which included the ENT, ophthalmology and dermatology. Along with it procedures like PAP smear were also carried out. Many men and women were tested for any signs and symptoms for Cancer.

The patients diagnosed with Cancer were well counseled and were made to apprehend that Cancer is a curable disease. Our caduceans had an erudite day learning about the screening procedures and it also helped them to work on their future careers. Over and above, the patients were happy to know that they were being guided in this aspect that needs more attention.
