CAMP ON WORLD HEART DAY

Heart Day is a part of an international campaign to spread awareness about cardiovascular diseases and stroke prevention. The World Heart Federation (WHF) organizes the World Heart Day, an international campaign on September 29th every year. Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) including strokes are responsible for half of all Non-Communicable Diseases making it world’s number one killer. Presently, cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in the world.

A health check up camp was held on the 5th October 2017 at Olympic Krida Mandal, Kurla, Mumbai in view of World Heart Day. On the day, every person had to go through general examination, screening for Hypertension, Diabetes Screening.

On occasion of world heart day, cardiovascular risk factors, diet counseling, BMI, were noted and explained. An Immunisation programme too was carried out of which our volunteers were an active part of. About 50 individuals were screened.
The project was carried out to spread awareness among general population about the risk factors of various health problems. By this free check up camp, many people were screened and recommended proper health treatment and advice. People were encouraged to lead a healthy lifestyle.All age groups were benefited.

The kurla government was impressed by our work and was keen on conducting many more camps.
